Validation of planning applications with trees

With the introduction of the new 1APP electronic submission of planning applications, failure to provide full tree information can now cause costly delays.

Government Circular 02/2008 and its guidance document Validation of Planning Applications, is now in force and councils can refuse to validate planning applications if essential tree information is missing. Where there are trees on or close to a site, all new planning applications must be accompanied by the following information:

If you have trees on your site, we can provide a formal impact appraisal report that will comply with the 1APP requirements.

Where trees are present but unlikely to be a significant issue, we have the capacity to do a desktop study that will fulfill the 1APP requirements for less expense than a full report.
